When a Pandemic of this size strikes and put the world on a standstill as it totally changes the reality and routines of people's everyday life, everyone become especially sensitive to any change that my affect their inner peace. The fact that most people are in a lockdown makes the goal to attain inner peace even more important than before.
There have been alot of people sharing with me today about how they feel world is already very messy. Many of them are upset to see people mindlessly sharing things that are not helpful for the situation like fake news, complains about the government or just generally a focus on everyone else's bad behaviour.
I get it, sometimes people feel like sharing the above mentioned information because they are fearful and dont know what else to do, so it is an expression of the fear and panic they feel.
Many of the older generation also only just mastered these new technologies as a result of the lockdown but do not understand the unwritten "etiquette" that comes along with it... (My many elderly relatives are sending so many photos and pictures I feel like I am on a never ending receiving end of spam! Haha... )
I am lucky my friends are mostly prudent when it comes sharing news and i mostly get light hearted friendly jokes to raise my energy.
If u have been actively sharing COVID news, I urge u to please pause and consider every time before you send out a piece of news or info and ask yourself if this piece of information spreads love or spreads fear before you send it out.
If u are on the receiving end and feel upset, I urge you to take this as a chance to become aware about the fear and unease u feel about the world now.
Instead of feeling upset (which is natural given our circumstances) we can become aware that this is also a window that will offer us a chance to understand our emotions, deal with them and find peace.
A good way is this simple exercise that my good friend /teacher shared in his newsletter.
"Relax; go inside. Say to every thought that crosses your mind, “This thought reflects a goal that keeps me from peace.” After 15-20 minutes you will be so peaceful... At that point many things will become clear. About yourself. Those around you and about where you are heading. Practice this every day."
Let's help each other along during this difficult period... Fighting! 😘😘😘😘😘
